Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

87. And We have certainly given you seven oft-repeated verses [47] and the glorious Quran.

[47]
Sab‘ al-Mathani or the Great Quran, Virtues of Surah Al-Fatihah:

The seven oft-repeated verses refer to Surah Al-Fatihah. Thus, Sayyiduna Sa‘id bin Mu‘alla states that the Prophet ﷺ said to me: “Shall I not tell you a Surah from the Quran which is greater than all other Surahs of the Quran? It is ﴿اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ﴾, which is the Sab‘ al-Mathani and the Great Quran that has been given to me.”
[بخاری، تفسیر سورۃ فاتحہ، نیز کتاب التفسیر، سورۃ انفال زیر آیت نمبر 24 __QUR_1__ ]
Also, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ says that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Surah Al-Hamd itself is Umm al-Quran, Umm al-Kitab, and the seven oft-repeated verses.” [ترمذي، ابواب التفسير سورة محمد]
And this Surah is the Great Quran in the sense that it contains the summary of the teachings of the entire Quran. It is as if the ocean has been contained in a jug. First, the recognition of Allah and His praise and glorification, then a comprehensive mention of reward and punishment on the Day of Judgment, then a complete declaration of abstaining from all forms of shirk, then the request for guidance to the straight path. These are the very subjects that are mentioned in the Quran in various ways, both concisely and in detail. And some scholars say that the further summary of this Surah is ﴿اِيَّاَكَ نَعْبُدُ وَاِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُ﴾. For details, see the footnotes of Surah Al-Fatihah.
