It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
72. (O Prophet!) By your life [37], at that moment they were blindly wandering in their intoxication.
[37] The Drunkenness of the Thugs:
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ؓ says that Allah Almighty has not created any soul in this world more honored and superior than the soul of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I do not know of any instance where Allah has sworn by any soul other than that of the Prophet ﷺ. By swearing this oath, Allah addressed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said that at that time, upon seeing those handsome boys, they had become blind and mad in their intoxication of lust, thinking that perhaps such a prey would never be available to them again.
