Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And also that My punishment is truly a painful [27] punishment.
[27] Hope and Fear from Allah Almighty:
Allah Almighty has mentioned His two attributes together, so that people neither rely solely on Allah’s forgiveness and become fearless, thus becoming bold in sinful acts, nor fear Him so much that they despair of His mercy. That is, even after obeying Allah Almighty, one should not become fearless by relying on one’s good deeds, but should also remain fearful due to some shortcomings. Allah Almighty has mentioned these two attributes together in many other places as well. For example, He has described one attribute of the believers as: ﴿يَدْعُوْنَرَبَّهُمْخَوْفًاوَّطَمَعًا﴾ and He said: ﴿وَادْعُوْهُخَوْفًاوَّطَمَعًا﴾[56: 7] However, the aspect of Allah’s mercy should be predominant, because along with it He said: ﴿اِنَّرَحْمَتَاللّٰهِقَرِيْبٌمِّنَالْمُحْسِنِيْنَ﴾[56: 7]
