Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

93. Take this shirt of mine and cast it over my father’s face; he will regain his sight. Then bring me all your family together [90].

Sending the Shirt by the Brothers and Emphasizing Bringing the Whole Family to Egypt:

As a result of this astonishing meeting of the brothers of Yusuf with Sayyiduna Yusufؑ, two issues were resolved automatically. One was the mission on which their father had sent these sons, that is, they should go and search for Yusuf and his brother, and the other was the issue of the provision of grain, for which the brothers of Yusuf, a short while ago, were pleading very humbly before the king of Egypt. Now they were just waiting for the command of Sayyiduna Yusufؑ, so Sayyiduna Yusufؑ said, "Now you return and bring your entire family to me, and take this shirt of mine; when you place it on my father's face, inshaAllah, his eyesight will be restored." The reason for the return of eyesight seems to be that the one whose separation had caused the loss of sight, with his reunion, that affliction would also be removed, and thus the return of eyesight would be possible. Thus, we see that when a patient suffering from a severe illness is visited by a close relative to whom he is deeply attached, the patient automatically recovers, and sometimes, due to a severe shock or extraordinary happiness, some blind people have suddenly become able to see. However, if this matter is attributed to the miracle of Sayyiduna Yusufؑ, there is no harm in that either.
