Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

9. "(So) either kill Yusuf or cast him away to some distant land, so that your father's attention will be devoted to you alone. And after that, you can become righteous people [8]."

[8]
Two Meanings of the Righteous:

The plan they devised to draw their father's attention towards themselves was that somehow Yusuf should be made to disappear—either by killing him or by sending him to some far-off place so that he could not return from there. Only in this way could they succeed in their objective. Now, since they were also the children of a great prophet, their conscience was reproaching them for committing such an act. The solution they thought of was to first fulfill their own desires, and later repent and become righteous. These were the very satanic schemes about which Yaqub ؑ had already been apprehensive. The second meaning of ﴿وَتَكُوْنُوْا مِنْ بَعْدِهٖ قَوْمًا صٰلِحِيْنَ﴾ could also be that when you people get rid of Yusuf, then after that, you yourselves will become pleasing to your father.
