Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

8. When the brothers of Yusuf said (among themselves): "Yusuf and his brother are more beloved to our father than we are, even though we are a strong [7] group. Surely, our father is clearly in error."

[7] That is, it is we who serve our father. We are the ones who earn and bring provisions. In times of difficulty, we are the ones who are useful, yet affection and love are directed towards Yusuf and his brother instead of us. It should have been that our father’s attention was towards us, but these two have become the center of attention, and this is a clear mistake of our father. The second meaning of the phrase "clear error" is that despite these facts, our father is immersed in love for these two.
