سُوْرَةُ الْمَاعُوْنِ
Surah Al-Maa'un (107) — Ayah 2
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ﴿2﴾

2. He is the one who drives away the orphan [2].
[2] The Arabs used to deprive women and children of inheritance, even though in reality they certainly deserved it. But the custom among the Arabs was that whoever among the heirs of the deceased was more influential and powerful, he would seize the entire inheritance, and would drive away the orphans. This was the result of their worship of wealth and denial of the Hereafter. Also, if any orphan came to them seeking help, they would treat him badly, and upon his insistence, would push him away. And even if someone took responsibility for raising an orphan, he would only scold and rebuke him.
