Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
Then, on that Day, you will surely be questioned about the blessings [6].
[6] The blessings of Allah upon man are indeed countless, as Allah Himself has said: ﴿وَاِنْتَعُدُّوْانِعْمَةَاللّٰهِلَاتُحْصُوْهَا﴾[14: 34، 16: 18] — that is, Allah’s blessings upon you are so numerous that if you try to count them, you will not be able to count them. However, these blessings are of two major types. One is those which are God-given, such as youth and health, which alone are greater than a thousand blessings. Regarding such blessings, the question will be: in what kind of pursuits did you spend them? The second type are those blessings in which a person’s own earning also plays a role, such as wealth and property of all kinds. Regarding such blessings, there will be two kinds of questions: first, through which means and how did you acquire these things, and second, in what ways did you spend them? That is, was their use lawful or unlawful? For further details, see the following hadiths: 1. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ says that when this verse was revealed, the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said to the Prophet ﷺ: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! About which blessing will we be questioned? (Our food) is just these two black things (dates and water); the enemy is upon us and swords remain on our shoulders (then what will we be questioned about)?” He ﷺ replied: “Nevertheless, this will certainly happen.” [ترمذی۔ ابواب التفسیر] 2. Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah ؓ narrates that once the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and we served him fresh dates and cold water. Upon this, he ﷺ said: These are among the blessings about which you will be questioned. [مسلم۔ کتاب الاشربہ۔ باب جواز استتباعہ غیرہ]
