34. Say: "Is there any among your partners who originates creation and then repeats it?" Say: "Allah originates creation [49] and then repeats it. So how are you deluded away from the truth?"
[49] The polytheists of Makkah did acknowledge that it is Allah alone who created them and the entire universe, and that their partners had no share in this act. However, they did not believe in resurrection or the life of the Hereafter. In this verse, two points have been conveyed to these polytheists. First, that the Being who can create for the first time can also create a second time, and in fact, recreating is even easier for Him. Second, that when their deities had no share in the first creation, they cannot have any share in the second creation either. Now, the answer regarding the first creation has been stated in the language of the Quraysh of Makkah, because they accepted this fact, and since they did not believe in the second creation or resurrection, its answer has been given through the tongue of the Noble Prophet ﷺ.
