Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And do not call upon anyone besides Allah, who can neither benefit you nor harm you. If you do so, then surely you will be among the wrongdoers [114].

The Commonly Understood Definition of a Polytheist: Considering Someone as Fulfiller of Needs and Remover of Difficulties:

Whenever a person calls upon any being or deity, his intentions can only be of two types: either he calls for something from which he can gain some benefit, such as asking for children or sustenance, or he calls for something through which some calamity or hardship can be removed from him. In common terminology, these two intentions are called seeking benefit and averting harm, or in simpler words, fulfillment of needs and removal of difficulties. Calling upon anyone other than Allah for either of these purposes is itself worship of that being, and there are countless evidences for this in the Book and Sunnah. And this is the greatest form of shirk or the gravest injustice.
