Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
100. It is not possible for anyone to believe except by Allah’s permission, and He casts filth upon those who do not use their reason [108].
[108] The Meaning of Allah’s Permission:
That is, without Allah’s guidance and approval, no one attains the blessing of faith, and this guidance is granted only to the one who seeks the truth using his intellect and is truly concerned with searching for the truth. He purifies his mind from all kinds of prejudices and external ideologies, and reflects upon Allah’s verses with an open mind. Whoever seeks the truth in this manner, Allah certainly shows him the right path and grants him the ability to believe, and this is what is called Allah’s permission. But the one who does not bother to think beyond ancestral imitation, religious prejudices, and external ideologies, Allah does not grant him the blessing of faith. In his fate, there is nothing but ignorance, misguidance, wrongdoing, wrong perception, and the filth of disbelief and polytheism.
