صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ﴿7﴾
The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (i.e. those who knew the Truth, but did not follow it) nor of those who went astray (i.e. those who did not follow the Truth out of ignorance and error). ,
صِرَٰطَ ṣirāṭa (The) path
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna (of) those
أَنْعَمْتَ anʿamta You have bestowed (Your) Favors
عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim on them
غَيْرِ ghayri not (of)
ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ l-maghḍūbi those who earned (Your) wrath
عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim on themselves
وَلَا walā and not
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ l-ḍālīna (of) those who go astray

7. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your favor [14], not of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray [15].

Who are the Blessed Ones and the Misguided Ones?

According to the explicit statement of the Quran, by these are meant the Prophets, the Siddiqeen, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. [4: 69] These are not those who have been granted abundance of wealth, riches, or grandeur. And according to the Prophet's statement, by ﴿مَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾ is meant the Jews who became bold in sinful deeds and upon whom Allah’s punishment and wrath descended, and by “the misguided” is meant the Christians who, entangled in philosophical intricacies, fell into the error of Trinity and misguidance, as is made clear by the following hadith: ‘Adi bin Hatim says that I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (in Madinah). He was sitting in the mosque at that time. People began to say, “This is ‘Adi bin Hatim who has come without anyone’s protection or written guarantee.” So they caught me and brought me to him ﷺ. You took hold of my hand, and before this, you had already informed the Companions ؓ that “I hope Allah will place ‘Adi’s hand in my hand.” Then you stood up and I was with you. (On the way) a woman and her child met you. They said to you: “We have some work with you.” So you ﷺ stood with them and fulfilled their need. Then you took my hand and came to your house. A girl spread a bedding for you. You sat on it and I sat before you. You praised Allah and then said to me: “What is it that prevents you from saying La ilaha illallah? Do you know of any god besides Allah?” I said, “No.” Then you ﷺ talked for a while and then asked: “What keeps you from saying Allahu Akbar? Do you know of anything greater than Allah?” I said, “No.” Then you said: “Allah’s wrath is upon the Jews and the Christians are misguided.” I said, “I become a Hanif (monotheistic) Muslim.” Then I saw happiness and delight on your face. Then you gave instructions regarding me and I stayed with an Ansari. Now I used to come to you morning and evening. [ترمذي۔ ابواب التفسير۔ سورة فاتحه]
In the Prophetic era, indeed, these were the two sects, ﴿مغضوب عليهم﴾ and ﴿ضالّين﴾. But today, most of the Muslim sects have joined them, and ﴿صراط مستقيم﴾ is only upon that Muslim sect about which you said «مَا اَنَاعَلَيْهِ وَ اَصْحَابِيْ» [ ترمذي، كتاب الايمان۔ باب افتراق هذه الامة]

Evidence for Saying Ameen Aloud:

(1) Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ narrates that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When the Imam says ﴿وَلاَالضَّالِيْنَ﴾, then you should say Ameen. Whoever’s saying Ameen coincides with the angels’ saying Ameen, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [بخاري۔ كتاب التفسير۔ سورة فاتحه نيز كتاب الاذان والجماعة۔ باب فضل التامين]
(2) Also, ‘Ata bin Abi Rabah says that Ameen is a supplication, and Abdullah bin Zubair ؓ and those praying behind him said Ameen so loudly that the mosque echoed. [بخاري۔ كتاب الاذان والجماعه۔ باب جهر الامام بالتامين]
(3) Wa’il bin Hujr ؓ, who came to Madinah in the Year of Delegations (10 AH), says: I heard the Prophet ﷺ, when he said ﴿غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّيْنَ﴾ in prayer, he prolonged his voice and said Ameen aloud. [ترمذي۔ ابواب الصلٰوة۔ باب ماجاء فى التامين]
