Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 19) ➊ { كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَ اسْجُدْ وَ اقْتَرِبْ:} It is said, he prevents you from prayer, so never obey him; rather, you should continue to pray, prostrate, and seek closeness to Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: [ أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُوْنُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَّبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ ] [ مسلم، الصلاۃ، باب ما یقال في الرکوع والسجود؟ : ۴۸۲ ] "A servant is closest to Allah when he is in prostration, so make plenty of supplication (du'a) in it." In Sahih Muslim, it is also narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would prostrate upon this verse. [ دیکھیے مسلم، المساجد، باب سجود التلاوۃ : ۱۰۸ /۵۷۸]

➋ Although the primary reference of these verses is Abu Jahl, due to the general wording, every person who possesses these characteristics is included, whoever he may be and from whichever era. And every believer is commanded not to obey such a rebellious person and to continue prostrating before Allah and seeking His closeness.
