سُوْرَةُ الضُّحٰي
Surah Ad-Dhuhaa (93) — Ayah 7
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَىٰ ﴿7﴾

And He found you unaware (of the Qur’ân, its laws, and Prophethood) and guided you?

(Ayah 7) {وَ وَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدٰى:} Before prophethood, Allah protected you from every kind of evil, to the extent that He said: « فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيْكُمْ عُمُرًا مِّنْ قَبْلِهٖ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ » [ یونس : ۱۶ ] “(Say to them) Indeed, I have spent a lifetime among you before this (prophethood); do you not then understand?” However, the correct way of worshipping Allah was not known to you; this became known when Allah granted you prophethood. Thus, Allah says: « وَ كَذٰلِكَ اَوْحَيْنَاۤ اِلَيْكَ رُوْحًا مِّنْ اَمْرِنَا مَا كُنْتَ تَدْرِيْ مَا الْكِتٰبُ وَ لَا الْاِيْمَانُ » [الشورٰی : ۵۲ ] “And thus We have revealed to you a Spirit by Our command; you did not know what the Book was, nor what faith was.” In this verse, this favor is mentioned that you were unaware of the way, so We informed you of it.
