وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ﴿2﴾
By the moon as it follows it (the sun).
وَٱلْقَمَرِ wal-qamari And the moon
إِذَا idhā when
تَلَىٰهَا talāhā it follows it

(Ayah 2) {وَ الْقَمَرِ اِذَا تَلٰىهَا: ’’تَلاَ يَتْلُوْ‘‘} (n) to come behind. And by the moon when it follows the sun! That is, after the sun sets, when the light of the moon spreads.
