سُوْرَةُ التَّوْبَةِ
Surah At-Tawba (9) — Ayah 9
ٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿9﴾

They have purchased with the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh a little gain, and they hindered men from His Way; evil indeed is that which they used to do.

(Ayah 9) {اِشْتَرَوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيْلًا … :} That is, these are the people who rejected the commands of Allah Almighty for the sake of the temporary benefits of worldly life, and not only did they themselves refrain from accepting Islam, but they also prevented others from following the path of Islam.
