سُوْرَةُ التَّوْبَةِ
Surah At-Tawba (9) — Ayah 72
وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَـٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِى جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ﴿72﴾
Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Allâh has promised the believers - men and women, - Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of ‘Adn (Eden Paradise). But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allâh. That is the supreme success.

But the pleasure

(Ayah72) ➊ {وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ … ’’ عَدْنٍ ‘‘} The place of everlasting stay, Abu Sa‘id Khudri and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them) narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(In Paradise) a caller will announce that for you is this (blessing) that you will remain healthy and never fall ill, and for you is this (blessing) that you will live and never die, and for you is this (blessing) that you will remain young and never grow old, and for you is this (blessing) that you will remain prosperous and never face hardship. So this is His statement: «وَ نُوْدُوْۤا اَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ اُوْرِثْتُمُوْهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ» [ الأعراف : ۴۳ ] ‘They will be called: This is the Paradise which you have been made to inherit because of what you used to do.’” [ مسلم، الجنۃ و صفۃ نعیمھا، باب فی دوام نعیم أہل الجنۃ… : ۲۸۳۷ ]
➋ {وَ رِضْوَانٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ اَكْبَرُ:} Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah, the Exalted, will say to the people of Paradise: ‘O people of Paradise! Are you pleased?’ They will say: ‘O our Lord! Why should we not be pleased, when You have given us what You have not given to any of Your creation?’ Allah, the Exalted, will say: ‘Shall I not give you a blessing greater than all these blessings?’ They will say: ‘And what blessing could be greater than this?’ Allah, the Exalted, will say: ‘I bestow My pleasure upon you, and I will never be displeased with you ever again.’” [بخاری، التوحید، باب کلام الرب مع أہل الجنۃ : ۷۵۱۸۔ مسلم : ۲۸۲۹ ]
➌ {’’ رِضْوَانٌ ‘‘} Here, the tanween of taqlil is to express the greatness of Allah’s pleasure, that even the slightest of Allah’s pleasure is far greater than the blessings of Paradise and the pure dwellings of the Garden of Eden; this indeed is the greatest success.
➋ {وَ رِضْوَانٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ اَكْبَرُ:} Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah, the Exalted, will say to the people of Paradise: ‘O people of Paradise! Are you pleased?’ They will say: ‘O our Lord!
