Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah66) ➊ { لَا تَعْتَذِرُوْا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِكُمْ …:} Do not make excuses, plainly admit that you believed and then committed clear disbelief. Whoever mocks matters of the religion, even if he does not deny them in his heart, has become a disbeliever; even if this is not the case, then at the very least he is certainly a hypocrite. The main point is that it is necessary to remain respectful both outwardly and inwardly regarding matters of the religion. (Muwaddih)

{ اِنْ نَّعْفُ عَنْ طَآىِٕفَةٍ مِّنْكُمْ …:} That is, whoever repented from hypocrisy and lived a sincere life thereafter, We forgive him, but whoever persisted in his disbelief will surely be punished. See the mercy of Allah Almighty: even the hypocrites are promised forgiveness and encouraged to adopt sincerity, and from some narrations it is known that many hypocrites later became sincere Muslims.
