Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 106) {وَ اٰخَرُوْنَ مُرْجَوْنَ لِاَمْرِ اللّٰهِ … :} Those who did not participate in the Battle of Tabuk and did not leave from Madinah were of three types: first, the hypocrites; second, Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions, whose mention has passed above; and third, Ka‘b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and his two companions, Murarah bin al-Rabi' and Hilal bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with them both), who, although they did not present any false excuse before the Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty did not accept their repentance quickly, rather, He postponed their matter. This verse mentions them, and the acceptance of their repentance is mentioned in a later verse.
