Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah10) ➊ { لَا يَرْقُبُوْنَ فِيْ مُؤْمِنٍ اِلًّا وَّ لَا ذِمَّةً:} To emphasize their condemnation, once again their evil deed is mentioned. Some commentators have taken the previous verses to refer to all polytheists, and these verses to refer to the Jews of Madinah, because Allah’s Book was with them, and instead of acting upon its verses and becoming Muslims, they preferred worldly interests. Although, preferring worldly interests by rejecting Allah’s commands is the habit of both polytheists and Jews. In this case, {’’ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ ‘‘} would refer to the verses brought by the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him).
{ وَ اُولٰٓىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُعْتَدُوْنَ:} That is, whenever there was breach of covenant and excess, it was always from their side.
