بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ﴿16﴾

Nay, you prefer the life of this world,

(Ayah 17,16){ بَلْ تُؤْثِرُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا …:} It is said: You fall short in the good deeds of the Hereafter because leaving the occupations of the world is hard for you, even though if you do not leave it, it will leave you, because it is not everlasting. And if you choose the Hereafter, it will never leave you. So think, which one should be given preference. (Summary of Ahsan al-Tafasir)
