Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 15 to 17){ اِنَّهُمْ يَكِيْدُوْنَ كَيْدًا …: ’’ رُوَيْدًا ‘‘} In Mukhtar al-Sihah it is: {’’ فُلاَنٌ يَمْشِيْ عَلٰي رُوْدٍ بِوَزْنِ عُوْدٍ أَيْ عَلٰي مَهْلٍ وَ تَصْغِيْرُهُ رُوَيْدٌ‘‘} that {’’رُوَيْدٌ‘‘ ’’رُوْدٌ‘‘} is the diminutive form of {’’عُوْدٌ‘‘}, which means respite. Thus, the meaning of {’’ رُوَيْدًا ‘‘} is a little respite. In the verse, this is the attribute of the omitted infinitive {’’ اَمْهِلْهُمْ ‘‘} of {’’إِمْهَالًا‘‘}. These people are making secret plans to deny the Day of Judgment and to erase the truth, and I am secretly making an even greater plan to counter them. You should neither be distressed by their opposition nor pray for a swift punishment, and at My command, give them a little respite; in the end, they have to return to Me, then it will be between Me and them.
