Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 16,15) {ذُوالْعَرْشِالْمَجِيْدُ … :} He does not possess ordinary and temporary authority like yours, rather He is the Owner of the Great Throne, which is greater than the earth, the heavens, and whatever is between them. Nor is He narrow-minded like you, that when given a little power, He resorts to oppression; rather, He is Most Glorious. Nor is He helpless like you, that He is forced to abandon His intentions; rather, He does whatever He wills. You should always fear such a Lord of tremendous power and seek His mercy. Remember that here, after {’’ ذُوالْعَرْشِ ‘‘ }, {’’ الْمَجِيْدُ ‘‘} is also an attribute of Allah Almighty, therefore it is in the nominative case; it is not an attribute of {’’ الْعَرْشِ ‘‘}, otherwise it would have been in the genitive case.
