Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 28,27) {وَ مِزَاجُهٗ مِنْ تَسْنِيْمٍ … : ’’مِزَاجٌ‘‘} Mixture, blending, that thing which is added to another thing to increase its flavor or to create fragrance or to reduce sharpness, for example, the juice of some fruit or kewra essence, cardamom, rose, musk, etc., or cool sweet water or milk, etc. This is only an example; the reality and pleasure of the blessings of Paradise are known to Allah Almighty, or will be known to those who receive them.
{’’ تَسْنِيْمٍ ‘‘} is a verbal noun from the Bab Taf‘il. {’’سَنِمَ‘‘ (س) ’’سَنَّمَ، تَسَنَّمَ أَيْ تَرَفَّعَ‘‘} means to be elevated, to fall from a high place. This is the opposite of {’’تَسْطِيْحٌ‘‘} (to be leveled). (Qamus) {’’ تَسْنِيْمٍ ‘‘} is the name of a spring in Paradise, whose water will be falling upon the people of Paradise from above, meaning they will drink the water of this spring mixed in the sealed nectar, which will be falling from above. (Tabari) Or, the spring is named Tasneem because it is the highest and most elevated drink of Paradise, which will be given to the Muqarrabeen to drink pure, and to the Abrar for mixing in the sealed nectar.
