Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 19){ اِنَّهٗ لَقَوْلُ رَسُوْلٍ كَرِيْمٍ :} This is the answer to those oaths, meaning the binding system of these planets, the departing night, and the spreading morning is a powerful testimony that this revelation has been brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) by a very honored and angel of great attributes (Jibreel, peace be upon him). Just as in the system of day and night, sun, moon, and stars, there can be no interference from any devil, so too is the case here.

In this verse, {’’ رَسُوْلٍ ‘‘} refers to Jibreel (peace be upon him), because the polytheists of Makkah sometimes said: « اِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهٗ بَشَرٌ » [ النحل : ۱۰۳ ] "A human teaches him." Sometimes they said: « اَفْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا اَمْ بِهٖ جِنَّةٌ » [ سبا : ۸ ] "Has he fabricated a lie against Allah or is he mad?" So Allah Almighty revealed these verses to refute the statements of these polytheists and declared that neither is the Messenger of Allah insane or mad, nor has he fabricated this Qur'an himself, nor has any human taught him this Qur'an. This is not a speech like that which the devils, after eavesdropping on the heavens, convey to the soothsayers, but rather, as a message from Allah, a possessor of strength, trustworthy, and faithful angel has delivered this Qur'an to the Prophet of Allah.
