Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 14,13){ فِيْ صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ… :} In these verses, the greatness of the Noble Quran is described: that it is written in such pages that are honored, which are of high status and pure. By this are meant those pages in which the angels copied from the Preserved Tablet and wrote, also those in which the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, who were scribes of the Quran, wrote after hearing from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and also those in which it was copied from them and will continue to be written until the Day of Judgment. Just as the Noble Quran is honored, and just as it is protected from the interference of devils and atheists, secure from every kind of distortion and alteration, and purified from every kind of content contrary to reason and modesty, all this is evident to everyone. The value of these characteristics is realized when it is compared to other heavenly or non-heavenly books. We too should honor the Noble Quran as much as possible, and when picking it up, placing it down, and reciting it—in short, on every occasion—we should observe utmost respect for it. When its word comes, then no one else's word should be given precedence over it.
