And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you (in the Cause of Allâh), they are of you. But kindred by blood are nearer to one another (regarding inheritance) in the decree ordained by Allâh. Verily, Allâh is the All-Knower of everything.

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 75) ➊ {وَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدُ … :} In this verse, the fourth group of Muslims is mentioned, who, after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah or after Badr, when Islam became a power, embraced faith and migrated. These people will also be counted among the earliest Muhajirun and the Ansar’s companions, although due to precedence, the rank of the former is higher than theirs. It is said: «وَ السّٰبِقُوْنَ السّٰبِقُوْنَ» [ الواقعۃ : ۱۰ ] “And those who are foremost, they are the ones are the ones who will be ahead.” However, according to the hadith in Bukhari (6168) and Muslim (2640) [ اَلْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ ] (On the Day of Resurrection, a person will be with those whom he loved and befriended), they will be counted among them. [فَاُولٰٓىِٕكَ مِنْكُمْ]

{ وَ اُولُوا الْاَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلٰى بِبَعْضٍ:} That is, from now on, inheritance will be distributed not on the basis of religious brotherhood but on the basis of kinship, because along with faith, migration, and Jihad, kinship is an additional reason for their closeness. By this, the method was abrogated in which the Muhajirun and Ansar used to inherit from each other. (Ibn Kathir)

{ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ:} He alone knows whose right comes first and whose comes later, therefore all His commands are based entirely on knowledge and wisdom.
