Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 71){وَ اِنْ يُّرِيْدُوْا خِيَانَتَكَ … : } That is, if they are claiming Islam or promising not to fight you in the future only to gain release and your sympathy, and there is deceit in their hearts, then what did they gain by previously committing treachery against Allah through shirk and by waging war against the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? Only that Allah granted you dominance over them. The same will happen again. In this, there is glad tidings for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and a warning for the captives. The object of {’’ فَاَمْكَنَ ‘‘} is omitted, meaning {’’أَمْكَنَكَ مِنْهُمْ‘‘} that He gave you dominance over them.
