As your Lord caused you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to go out from your home with the truth; and verily, a party among the believers disliked it,

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 5) {كَمَاۤ اَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنْۢ بَيْتِكَ …: } Here, the question arises: What is that matter about which Allah Almighty is saying that it is just like when your Lord brought you out of your house with the truth? The commentators have given many explanations for this {’’ كَمَا ‘‘} (just as), some have even reached up to twenty, but the author of Al-Kashaf has given only two explanations, of which the clearer one is that here the subject is omitted, and the phrase would be like this: {’’ هٰذِهِ الْحَالُ كَحَالِ إِخْرَاجِكَ يَعْنِيْ اَنَّ حَالَهُمْ فِيْ كَرَاهِيَةِ مَا رَأَيْتَ مِنْ تَنْفِيْلِ الْغَزْوَةِ مِثْلُ حَالِهِمْ فِيْ كَرَاهَةِ خُرُوْجِكِ لِلْحَرْبِ ‘‘} That is, in finding your opinion and decision regarding the distribution of the spoils of war obtained from the Battle of Badr unpleasant, their condition is just like their condition was regarding your going out for battle, even though in both cases there was only good for you and for the Muslims. Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "This dispute over the spoils is just like when, at the time of departure, they started making plans with their intellect, and in the end, the decision was the same as what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, so in every matter, adopt this approach that do not let your intellect interfere in obedience."
