سُوْرَةُ الْاَنْفَالِ
Surah Al-Anfaal (8) — Ayah 18
ذَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُوهِنُ كَيْدِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ﴿18﴾

This (is the fact) and surely, Allâh weakens the deceitful plots of the disbelievers.

(Ayah 18) {ذٰلِكُمْ وَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُوْهِنُ كَيْدِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ:} That is, this is indeed the matter that has already been mentioned, meaning the help with the angels, sending down rain, causing drowsiness, throwing dust in the eyes of the polytheists, the killing of their seventy men and the capture of seventy, and the great victory granted to the Muslims, etc. Along with this, listen further that Allah will continue to weaken the plots of the disbelievers in the future as well, and they will never succeed in any of their schemes. (Ibn Kathir) Or it means that the plan they had made to save their trade caravan and to break the strength of the Muslims, their plan was foiled, they themselves were killed and captured by your hands, and they retreated after suffering heavy losses in lives and wealth.
