Surah An-Naazi'aat (79) — Ayah 17

ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ﴿17﴾
Go to Fir‘aun (Pharaoh); verily he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief).
ٱذْهَبْ idh'hab Go
إِلَىٰ ilā to
فِرْعَوْنَ fir'ʿawna Firaun
إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, he
طَغَىٰ ṭaghā (has) transgressed

(Ayah 17 to 19) ➊ { اِذْهَبْ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ … :} Along with the command to go to Pharaoh, the invitation given to him was also taught. Despite the brevity of the words of the invitation, gentleness and both encouragement and warning are clearly evident. In Surah Ta-Ha, Allah Almighty said to Musa and Harun (peace be upon them): « فَقُوْلَا لَهٗ قَوْلًا لَّيِّنًا لَّعَلَّهٗ يَتَذَكَّرُ اَوْ يَخْشٰى » [ طٰہٰ : ۴۴ ] "Speak to Pharaoh gently, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear (Allah)."
{ اِنَّهٗ طَغٰى :} "Indeed, he has transgressed." Pharaoh's transgression was, firstly, exceeding the bounds of servitude by saying, "I am your supreme Lord," and secondly, his tyranny over the creation of Allah was that he had divided the nation into classes and made them his slaves. Especially, he used to slaughter the sons of the Children of Israel and keep their women alive.
{فَقُلْ هَلْ لَّكَ … : ’’ تَزَكّٰى ‘‘} Become purified, meaning to become purified from the filth of shirk and disbelief. {’’ فَتَخْشٰى ‘‘} Then you may fear, meaning after knowing the path of your Lord, you may fear that the Lord may take away the kingdom He has given and, instead of blessings, seize you in His grip. Thus, out of this fear, you may refrain from associating partners with Him and from oppressing His servants, because fear in the heart arises only from knowledge, as He said: « اِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللّٰهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمٰٓؤُا » [ فاطر : ۲۸ ] "Only those of His servants who have knowledge fear Allah."
