And We have built above you seven strong (heavens),

(Ayah 12) {وَ بَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا … :} After drawing attention to the wonders beneath man and around him, attention is directed to the wonders above. It is said: We have built above you seven strong heavens in which there is neither a crack nor any weakness; they do not fall, nor is there any interference from any devil. { ’’ شِدَادًا ‘‘ ’’شَدِيْدَةٌ‘‘} is the plural of 'shadīdatun', meaning firm, strong.
