Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 1 to 3) ➊ { عَمَّيَتَسَآءَلُوْنَ… :} In this surah, the proofs of the reality of the Day of Judgment and some of its conditions have been mentioned. When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) invited people to believe in the Oneness of Allah and Prophethood, and along with that informed them that one day you will be resurrected and presented before Allah, and you will be rewarded for all your good and bad deeds, the listeners began to question among themselves: Will the Day of Judgment really occur? Is it even possible? Then how will that Day of Judgment be? Etc. Upon this, these verses were revealed. ➋ { ’’ النَّبَاِالْعَظِيْمِ ‘‘} refers to the Day of Judgment. There is disagreement in this: some do not believe at all that the Day of Judgment will occur, some believe but are not certain, some say how can we be resurrected after turning to dust? This is against reason itself, and some say that the bodies will not be resurrected, rather all happiness and sorrow will be experienced only by the soul, etc.
