Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 49,48) {وَاِذَاقِيْلَلَهُمُارْكَعُوْا … :} The meaning of ruku‘ is to bow, that is, to submit oneself before the commands of Allah, and by saying ruku‘, prayer (salah) is also meant, because ruku‘ is a part of it. That is, the real reason for the denial of these deniers is that they are not ready to bow before the commands of Allah, nor are they willing to perform prayer. This very arrogance became the cause of their denial, just as it was for Satan. The reality is that the essence of faith is to bow before Allah, and the essence of disbelief is to refuse to bow before Allah, and for such people there is great loss and destruction on the Day of Resurrection.
