Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 3) ➊ { اِنَّاهَدَيْنٰهُالسَّبِيْلَ:} That is, while testing mankind, We did not suffice by granting him only the blessings of hearing, sight, and intellect, but also made arrangements to show him the right and wrong path. This distinction between good and evil has also been placed in his nature, due to which good deeds are recognized (well-known) to him and evil deeds are unrecognized (unknown), and through the Prophets (peace be upon them) as well, he has been shown the path of good and evil. ➋ { اِمَّاشَاكِرًاوَّاِمَّاكَفُوْرًا:} After receiving hearing and sight, intellect and understanding, human nature, and heavenly guidance through the Prophets (peace be upon them), the right path becomes completely clear for man. Now it is up to him whether he becomes grateful for His blessings by walking on this path, or he abandons the straight path and becomes ungrateful and a disbeliever.
