Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 14) {وَدَانِيَةًعَلَيْهِمْظِلٰلُهَا … : ’’ دَانِيَةً ‘‘ ’’دَنَايَدْنُوْ‘‘} is an active participle from (ن), meaning near. {’’ ذُلِّلَتْ ‘‘} will be subjected, will be lowered. {’’ تَذْلِيْلًا ‘‘} is for emphasis, meaning greatly lowered. {’’قُطُوْفٌ‘‘ ’’قِطْفٌ‘‘} is the plural, meaning cluster, picked fruit, that is, the shades of the trees of Paradise will be extremely dense and lowered, and the clusters of its fruits will be subjected to the people of Paradise and within their reach, so that whether standing, sitting, or lying down, they will be able to pick them as they wish. Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ إِنَّفِيالْجَنَّةِلَشَجَرَةًيَّسِيْرُالرَّاكِبُفِيْظِلِّهَامِائَةَعَامٍلاَيَقْطَعُهَا ][ بخاري، بدء الخلق، باب ما جاء في صفۃ الجنۃ… : ۳۲۵۱ ] "In Paradise, there is a tree under whose shade a rider could travel for a hundred years but would not be able to cross it."
