Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 7) {فَاِذَابَرِقَالْبَصَرُ: ’’ بَرِقَالْبَصَرُ ‘‘ (س،ن) ’’ بَرْقًاوَبُرُوْقًا‘‘} The eyes will remain wide open in astonishment or, struck with terror, will be unable to see anything. (Qamus) Instead of informing about the date of the Day of Resurrection and its details, Allah Almighty has described some of the events that will occur on that day. {’’ فَاِذَابَرِقَالْبَصَرُ ‘‘} That is, upon witnessing the strange and extraordinary incidents and events of the Day of Resurrection, the eyes will remain wide open in amazement, and out of fear and terror, they will not be able to see anything, as Allah Almighty has said: « وَلَاتَحْسَبَنَّاللّٰهَغَافِلًاعَمَّايَعْمَلُالظّٰلِمُوْنَاِنَّمَايُؤَخِّرُهُمْلِيَوْمٍتَشْخَصُفِيْهِالْاَبْصَارُ (42) مُهْطِعِيْنَمُقْنِعِيْرُءُوْسِهِمْلَايَرْتَدُّاِلَيْهِمْطَرْفُهُمْوَاَفْـِٕدَتُهُمْهَوَآءٌ »[ إبراہیم : 43,42 ] "And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare in horror. They will be racing ahead with their heads raised, their gaze not returning to them, and their hearts will be empty."
