Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 10){عَلَىالْكٰفِرِيْنَغَيْرُيَسِيْرٍ:} First{ ’’ يَوْمٌعَسِيْرٌ ‘‘} (it is a difficult day) is stated, then it is said: « عَلَىالْكٰفِرِيْنَغَيْرُيَسِيْرٍ » "which is not easy for the disbelievers." Here, a question arises that something difficult is, by definition, not easy, so what is the purpose of this clarification? The answer is that it should not be assumed that there could be any ease in that difficult day, or that perhaps it will be difficult at first but then become easy; therefore, it is said that for the disbelievers, there will be no ease on that day, neither at the beginning nor later. However, for the believers, there will be ease, as it is said: « لَايَحْزُنُهُمُالْفَزَعُالْاَكْبَرُ »[ الأنبیاء : ۱۰۳ ] "the greatest terror will not grieve them." And even if some severity is felt at first, later there will be ease.
