Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 7){ اِنَّلَكَفِيالنَّهَارِسَبْحًاطَوِيْلًا: ’’ سَبْحًا ‘‘} And { ’’سِبَاحَةٌ ‘‘} (fa) originally means to swim, as He said: «وَالسّٰبِحٰتِسَبْحًا »[ النازعات : ۳ ] "And by those who swim swiftly." The meaning is to go here and there, to be engaged in work and occupation, that is, during the day you are occupied with household chores, earning a livelihood, preaching religion, hospitality, resolving the affairs of Muslims, and striving in the way of Allah—in short, countless engagements. The reality is that no one has ever spent as busy a time as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did. In such busyness, it was not possible during the day to set aside separate time for the remembrance of Allah, standing in prayer, and recitation, so for these specific acts, the command was given to rise at night.
