Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 23){ اِلَّا بَلٰغًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَ رِسٰلٰتِهٖ … :} This is an exception from {’’ لَاۤ اَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَّ لَا رَشَدًا ‘‘}, and the middle verse is a further clarification of the first verse, meaning that I only have the authority to convey Allah’s commands and His messages; my task is only this much. After the message has been conveyed, whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, for him there is the fire of Hell in which he will remain forever. Here, disobedience means not believing in the oneness of Allah, because this is the subject being discussed in the previous verses. Only the disbelievers will remain in Hell forever; this does not mean that the punishment for every sin and disobedience is to remain in Hell forever.
