Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
The plural of { وَاَنَّامِنَّاالصّٰلِحُوْنَوَمِنَّادُوْنَذٰلِكَ …:’’ طَرَآىِٕقَ ‘‘ ’’ طَرِيْقَةٌ ‘‘} and {’’ قِدَدًا ‘‘ ’’ قِدَّةٌ ‘‘} is on the pattern of {’’قِطْعَةٌ‘‘}, meaning pieces. From this verse, it is understood that among the jinn there are both righteous and unrighteous individuals. Among them are those with good beliefs, good deeds, and good morals, as well as the opposite. Among them are monotheists and polytheists, followers of the Sunnah and innovators, those with good character and those with bad character. There are also those who, after hearing some news from the heavens, mix it with a hundred lies, and those who do not do so. The purpose of the believing jinn saying this to their people is to clarify that not all of us are on the right path; rather, among us are also unrighteous individuals, whom it is necessary to explain the truth to and for them to accept it.
