Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 27,26) {وَ قَالَ نُوْحٌ رَّبِّ …:} From here is the remaining part of the supplication of Nuh (peace be upon him). The question arises: how did Nuh (peace be upon him) know that if these people remained alive, only disbelievers would be born from their descendants? The answer is that Allah Himself informed Nuh (peace be upon him) that, apart from those who have already believed from your people, no one else will accept faith now. (See Hud: 36) After knowing this, Nuh (peace be upon him) supplicated: O Allah! Do not leave even a single “diyar” among these disbelievers on the earth. {’’ دَيَّارًا ‘‘ ’’فَيْعَالٌ‘‘} is on the pattern of {’’دَارَ يَدُوْرُ دَوْرًا‘‘} (to roam); if derived from this, it would mean, do not leave even a single wanderer. And if it is derived from {’’دَارٌ‘‘} (house), it means, do not leave even a single inhabitant of a house.
