Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 14) {وَقَدْخَلَقَكُمْاَطْوَارًا :} That is, the reality is that the signs of Allah’s greatness are present within your own selves; He created you in various stages. First from clay, then from a drop of fluid, then a clinging clot, then a lump, then bones, then He clothed the bones with flesh, then He made you a human being in the best form and appearance, whose state changes every day—childhood, youth, old age, then death. After so many stages, how can recreating you be difficult for Him!? If you do not consider the greatness of such a Creator and continue to think that appearing before Him is impossible, how astonishing that is. This same point is explained in detail in Surah Al-Hajj (6,5) and Surah Al-Mu’minun (14–16). The second meaning of {’’ خَلَقَكُمْاَطْوَارًا ‘‘} is that He created you in different forms, so that not a single person resembles another in appearance, stature, color, voice, or mental ability—in short, in any aspect. This same meaning is mentioned in Surah Ar-Rum (22).
