Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
And the weighing on that day (Day of Resurrection) will be the true (weighing). So as for those whose scale (of good deeds) will be heavy, they will be the successful (by entering Paradise).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 8) {وَالْوَزْنُيَوْمَىِٕذِالْحَقُّ:} In the above verse, the mention is of questioning and reckoning; in this verse, it is of the weighing of deeds, meaning the good and bad deeds of each person will be weighed. Here, due to the objection that those deeds will no longer exist at that time, some rationalists have denied the weighing of deeds altogether, but how can the word of Allah Almighty be wrong? Imam Bukhari, may Allah have mercy on him, concluded his Sahih Bukhari by proving this matter with evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah. See also Surah Al-Anbiya (47). How will this weighing take place? Some scholars have said that the papers on which the deeds are written will be weighed. Some have said that those deeds will be given a form and that form will be weighed. Some have said that the doer of the deed will be weighed. Hafiz Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “All three possibilities are possible, and each is supported by verses and hadiths.” The fourth possibility is that the deeds themselves will be weighed, because they have existence, as stated in the Noble Qur’an: « وَوَجَدُوْامَاعَمِلُوْاحَاضِرًا »[ الکہف : ۴۹ ] “And they will find whatever they did present.” And it is said: «وَاِنْكَانَمِثْقَالَحَبَّةٍمِّنْخَرْدَلٍاَتَيْنَابِهَا »[ الأنبیاء : ۴۷ ] “And if there is even the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth.” And the same is mentioned in Surah Luqman (16). In Surah Az-Zalzalah, it is said: «فَمَنْيَّعْمَلْمِثْقَالَذَرَّةٍخَيْرًايَّرَهٗ(7)وَمَنْيَّعْمَلْمِثْقَالَذَرَّةٍشَرًّايَّرَهٗ»[ الزلزال : ۷، ۸ ] “So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” This is also mentioned in Surah Al-Imran (30). And this fourth possibility is the preferred one. Now, modern science has solved this issue in the world itself; the entire record of voices and deeds dissolved in the air, and the weight of things that have ceased to exist, all of this is being revealed by human hands. «وَلِلّٰہِالْمَثَلُالْاَعْلیٰ» But the real pleasure of believing is when the word of Allah Almighty and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is accepted as it is, whether it is understood by reason or not, and this is called Islam. If someone believes after it is proven by science, then what belief is that in the word of Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)?
