Surah Al-A'raaf (7) — Ayah 66

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى سَفَاهَةٍ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ ﴿66﴾
The leaders of those who disbelieved among his people said: "Verily, we see you in foolishness, and verily, we think you are one of the liars."
قَالَ qāla Said
ٱلْمَلَأُ l-mala-u the chiefs
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna (of) those who
كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieved
مِن min from
قَوْمِهِۦٓ qawmihi his people
إِنَّا innā Indeed, we
لَنَرَىٰكَ lanarāka surely, see you
فِى in
سَفَاهَةٍۢ safāhatin foolishness
وَإِنَّا wa-innā and indeed, we
لَنَظُنُّكَ lanaẓunnuka [we] think you
مِنَ mina (are) of
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ l-kādhibīna the liars

(Ayah 66){ اِنَّا لَنَرٰىكَ فِيْ سَفَاهَةٍ:} In their view, committing shirk by following the ways of their forefathers and adopting other superstitions was the height of wisdom, and opposing it was foolishness.
