Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 141) {وَ اِذْ اَنْجَيْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ اٰلِ فِرْعَوْنَ … :} Fourthly, remember the deliverance from the people of Pharaoh, for not only Pharaoh alone but his entire nation had enslaved you. {’’ بَلَآءٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ ‘‘} A trial can be both a blessing and a calamity. In this incident, you faced both the trial of hardship and of blessing. The slaughtering of your sons, keeping your women alive to make them slave girls and use them for labor, fulfilling their desires, and planning to wipe out the progeny of the Children of Israel by eliminating the men was the calamity, and deliverance from it was the blessing. See also Surah Al-Baqarah (49).

It is narrated from Abu Waqid Al-Laithi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out towards Hunayn, he passed by a tree belonging to the polytheists, which was called Dhat Anwat, and they used to hang their weapons on it. So (some new Muslims) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Appoint for us a Dhat Anwat as they have a Dhat Anwat." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Subhan Allah! This is just like what the people of Musa (peace be upon him) said: 'Make for us a god just as they have gods.' By the One in Whose hand is my soul! You will surely follow the ways of those before you." [ ترمذی، الفتن، باب ما جاء لترکبن سنن … : ۲۱۸۰ ] Both Tirmidhi and Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on them) graded it Sahih.
