Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 110,109) {قَالَالْمَلَاُمِنْقَوْمِفِرْعَوْنَ …:} Here it is mentioned that the chiefs of Pharaoh’s people declared Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him) to be a magician. In Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26:34), it is mentioned that Pharaoh said this to his chiefs. It appears that Pharaoh fabricated two accusations to neutralize the miracle of Musa (peace be upon him): first, that he is a skilled magician, and second, that he wants to seize power and expel you from the land of Egypt. See Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26:34, 35). His people, whom he had made so foolish and insignificant that they began to consider him their deity and accept his word as the word of their Lord (see Az-Zukhruf: 54), this same people repeated his words.
