Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 25) One meaning of {وَ غَدَوْا عَلٰى حَرْدٍ قٰدِرِيْنَ : ’’ حَرْدٍ ‘‘} is intention and resolve, that is, they set out with firm determination that they would not let any needy person enter the garden. The second meaning is intense anger, that is, they set out in a state of great anger towards the needy. In both cases, the meaning of {’’ قٰدِرِيْنَ ‘‘} is "in the state that, in their opinion, they had power over the fruit of the garden." The third meaning of {’’ حَرْدٍ ‘‘} is to prevent, that is, they set out early in the morning in such a state that (in their opinion) they were able to prevent the needy.
