Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 9,8){ تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ … : ’’ تَمَيَّزُ ‘‘} In reality, it is {’’تَتَمَيَّزُ‘‘} (tafa‘‘ul); one tā’ has been omitted for lightness. “It is about to burst with rage”—from this, it is evident that the Fire has consciousness and is extremely angry at the disbelievers. The depiction of Hell’s intense anger and fury at that moment cannot be painted in better words than this. Whenever a new group of people is thrown into Hell, the guardian angels of Hell will ask them, “Did no warner come to you?” This question will be asked of every group, and not because the angels do not know whether warners came to them or not, but firstly, to express astonishment that despite the warnings from Allah’s messengers and those who called to the religion, you did not believe and knowingly became fuel for Hell; secondly, to establish proof against them and to make them admit with their own mouths that they are not being thrown into Hell in ignorance or without crime, but in fact, they truly deserve it. Thus, they themselves will say, “Why not, warners did come to us, and they conveyed to us the complete teachings sent down by Allah, but we denied them and completely rejected the idea that Allah had sent down anything, rather, we considered them to be deeply misguided.”
