سُوْرَةُ الْمُلْكِ
Surah Al-Mulk (67) — Ayah 7
إِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ فِيهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِىَ تَفُورُ ﴿7﴾

When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth.

(Ayah 7){ اِذَاۤ اُلْقُوْا فِيْهَا سَمِعُوْا لَهَا شَهِيْقًا وَّ هِيَ تَفُوْرُ:’’شَهِيْقٌ‘‘} The last sound of a donkey’s braying and {’’ زَفِيْرٌ ‘‘} the initial sound. (Qamoos) In Surah Al-Furqan (12), it is stated that when Hell sees them from a distance, they will hear the intense anger of Hell and a sound like the braying of a donkey. Along with this, the cries and screams of the people of Hell that will be heard will also be like the sounds of donkeys. Allah Almighty said: « فَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ شَقُوْا فَفِي النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا زَفِيْرٌ وَّ شَهِيْقٌ » [ ھود : ۱۰۶ ] “So those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire; for them is the drawing in and letting out of sound like a donkey.”
